COVID-19 Guidance and Information

Announcement: 3 Announcement to our Students (13.03.2020)

Dear Maltepe University Students,

Due to the COVID-19 spreading globally, the Higher Education Council has prepared a detailed information letter with regards to the precautions to be taken and has shared it with higher education institutions on 13.03.2020.

Relevant parts of the information letter regarding the students have also been evaluated in detail by our University. We expect you to read the points that are drawn attention to and wish you healthy and successful days.

RECTORATE

  • All educational activities, academic exchange programs, social activities, cultural tours, sports activities, competition etc., abroad travels subject to the permission and knowledge of our University, including the preplanned ones, are cancelled until further announcement.
  • All practical education, including internships and internship trainings have been cancelled.
  • Specialization students in our Faculty of Medicine will be able to continue their studies.
  • The holiday decision applies to all of our postgraduate students in formal education as well.
  • However, the postgraduate students within the scope of distance education will continue their education.
  • Our students in foreign countries (either Turkish or Foreign Nationalities) might face problems due to the pandemic, their flights might be cancelled. In case they return to our country, they will not be able to continue their education for at least 14 days. In the meantime, we would like to remind that said students might face other problems in this context as well.  
  • All precautions have been taken to ensure that our students, who traveled abroad in the scope of the Erasmus+ exchange program and who will return to our country, will not encounter any problems regarding their course adaptation.
  • The interns at our Faculty of Medicine may voluntarily contribute to the medical services at our University. We would like to thank them in advance for their sensitivity on this subject.
  • A commission has been established at our University in order to ease the exercises in this context. You can refer to [email protected] to get more information when necessary.
  • Above information notes are valid between 16.03.2020 - 03.04.2020.
