About The Adjustment Procedures

About Adaptation Procedures
The path to be followed by students who want to be recognized in the program in which they are registered at Maltepe University Faculty of Law is briefly summarized below:
1. A petition must be submitted to the Faculty Secretariat within the time specified in the academic calendar. For the 2021-2022 Academic Year Spring Semester, petitions can be submitted until 25 February 2022 at the latest. Timely submission of petitions is important for the functioning of course registrations and advisor approvals. Applications not submitted in due time will not be considered.
2. Students should clearly state the courses they want to transfer to Maltepe University Faculty of Law in the petition. A document showing the course content approved by the higher education institution they have studied before and a transcript must be attached to the petition. If the courses to be transferred are not specified in the petition, and the approved course contents and transcript are not attached to the petition, the relevant request will not be considered and will not be processed. Therefore, the student making the request should check whether they have the following documents:
I. Petition containing the courses to be transferred (FR-368 Undergraduate-Associate Degree Exemption Petition)
ii. Approved course contents
iii. transcript
3. If the student has studied at more than one higher education institution before, he/she should add the course contents and transcript of the higher education institution where he/she took the relevant courses for the first time to his/her petition. Evaluation is not made by looking only at the transfers in the last institution. Therefore, students who want to transfer courses from their previous institutions should check whether they have the following documents in addition to the above documents:
iv. Approved course contents from previous institutions
v. Transcripts of previous institutions
4. The petition first goes to the Preliminary Investigation Commission. The Preliminary Investigation Commission does not conduct an examination without an application. The evaluation to be made here is in the nature of a recommendation and the final decision is made by the Faculty of Law Administrative Board. The student is exempted from the courses whose course content and credits are suitable for the program at Maltepe University Faculty of Law.

5. The class of the student is determined according to the ECTS account:
- First class students who have successfully completed 0-59 ECTS credits
- Those who have successfully completed 60-119 ECTS credits, second class
- Those who have successfully completed 120-179 ECTS credits, third class
- Those who have successfully completed 180 or more ECTS credits are defined as fourth or final year students.
6. Except for students who enroll in Maltepe University according to the results of the vertical transfer exam, students who have graduated from or continue to open or distance education programs of other higher education institutions cannot transfer the courses they have taken during their education to Maltepe University. In other words, no exemption is given for the courses taken in open or distance education programs that are completed or continued, except for students who enroll with vertical transfer.
For comprehensive information on the operation, T.C. Maltepe University Recognition of Previous Higher Education, Transfer and Adaptation Procedures Directive; T.R.
