About the Programme

Maltepe University Faculty of Law founded in 1997, despite being a relatively young institution compared to the long-established law schools in Turkey, has completed its construction in a very short period of time and acquired all the hallmarks required for a qualified law school. Our Faculty had its first graduates in the Academic Year of 2000-2001.

The Bachelors (LL.B.) programme of our Faculty is set up in parallel especially with the legal educational systems in the Continental European states. Our alumni start to practice their profession as individuals who have gained basic law formations. Moreover, during their undergraduate studies they develop skills to successfully comment, analyse and express their views both in written and oral means as competent jurists in regards to the continuously evolving branches of law. Furthermore, in order to ensure that our graduates have the skill to use at least one foreign language thoroughly, so they will be prepared jurists in today's globalised world, our students are given the opportunity to experience one year of preparatory studies in English before their undergraduate studies in law.

The alumni who have successfully completed the LL.B. studies will be equipped for a variety of careers in the legal professions such as a judge, prosecutor, attorney or notary and as well as a wide range of opportunities in various fields.

Individuals who are sensitive to social problems, determined in providing justice and balancing mutual or conflicting rights and interests and also hardworking and disciplined are always welcome to our Faculty.

Mission 
The Faculty of Law's mission is to; equip individuals, who wish to gain the notion of justice, with legal knowledge and experience that would provide bringing solutions to every kind of legal problem in order to make our alumni ready to face the difficulties of the competitive professional environment; train its academic staff as competent publicists at the international standards in every branch of law; acquire a powerful contribution to the development of law with its scientific academic activities.

The vision of the Faculty of Law is being a prestigious institution at both national and international levels with its high quality legal education, original and authentic scientific research, creative academic activities and fully qualified academic staff.
