Maltepe University Faculty of Law was established in 1997, aiming to raise qualified jurists equipped with the science of law at national and international level. The Faculty gave its first graduates in the 2000-2001 academic year. The faculty conducting its academic activities with the experienced academic staff consisted of  academics renowned in their fields both in Turkey and in the world, has organized its four-year undergraduate program with a synthesis of the law education programs of the countries in the Continental and Anglo-Saxon legal systems by trying to reconcile the Turkish legal system as much as possible. The curriculum, which combines theory and practice, has adopted the principle of raising effective lawyers not only in the national field but also in the international arena. From this point of view, thirty percent of the curriculum is composed of English lessons. While the branches of science that are the basis of Turkish law practice are given in Turkish, courses with international content are given in English. At this point, especially International Law, Human Rights Law, European Union Law, International Investment Law, International Arbitration Law, International Dispute Resolution and International Intellectual Property Law and etc. lectures are given in English. Students whose English level is not sufficient have the opportunity to study in the preparatory class at the School of Foreign Languages ​​within the University. Graduates who have successfully completed their undergraduate studies gain professions such as judges, prosecutors, attorneys and notaries, which can only be performed by persons with a lawyer identity, as well as working in Ministries, Banks, national and international non-governmental organizations. Within the framework of the bilateral agreements signed by our university and our faculty, our students have the opportunity to study abroad for one or two semesters with ERASMUS programs and increase their employment opportunities especially in the international field. Our faculty, which integrates with law faculties of other countries with 30% English education program, stands out with this aspect.
