Maltepe University will provide hotel and meals while on campus as well as sightseeing in Istanbul. 

Conference participants have to pay for transportation to and from Istanbul, Turkey.

AIRPORTS

Istanbul has two international airports Istanbul Airport (IST), the main international hub of Turkish Airlines, and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), a major hub for low-cost airlines as Pegasus Airlines, Onur Air and AtlasJet. Passengers arriving/departing from these airports will be welcomed by Congress staff and we will take care of your transfer to the Maltepe University campus and back to the Airport.

TRAIN/BUS
Istanbul can be reached also by other means of public transport from neighbouring countries or within Turkey.
Train:  the main railway hub is  Sirkeci train station on the European side.
Bus: the main intercity bus stations are Otogar/Esenler on the European side and Harem on the Anatolian side. Major bus companies provide shuttles into the city center.

VISAS
Visa requirements for entrance into Turkey dependpon the diplomatic agreements between Turkey and the country of the participant. For some countries, entry visas to Turkey can also be obtained at airport of entry. Participants are advised to check visa requirements with the Turkish consulate in their home country or with their travel agency. Please note that a number of countries are also eligible for electronic visas (e-visa) so make sure to check for this option when your apply for your own one.

To avoid any inconvenience, apply for your visa in person and in good time before departing for Turkey. The most updated visa information can be received from the Turkish Foreign Ministry website.

VISA FEES for your entrance to Turkey: depending on your nationality you might be required to pay a VISA FEE in Euros, US Dollars or British Pounds before passport controls at both Istanbul Ataturk and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Please queue for the visa payment first as, without the required visa you will not be allowed to cross the border.
In case your country is not listed (e.g.: Italy) this will likely mean that in your case visa fees are waived and you can proceed directly to the passport control booths.
At both airports visa fees are also displayed prior to your arrival to the passport controls area.

TIME
GMT (Greenwich Meridian Time) + 2 hours in the entire country. This +1 hour from Central Europe Time (CET).

BANKING AND EXCHANGE FACILITIES

Foreign money can be changed at banks during normal business hours (09.00-17.00 Monday-Friday) as well as at hotels, at the airport and in exchange offices. Exchange rates are set daily by the Central Bank. All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops. ATMs for Turkish Liras, Euros and US Dollars are available at many points throughout the city and at the airports.
