Centre for Research and Application of Human Rights

Part 1: Against The Tide

The aim of the first part of this TV programme is to shed a strong light on the significance of the human rights as ethical principles, i.e., principles for action, and to draw attention to what an individual, if aware of this significance, can do for the protection of human rights even under the circumstances of war in which human rights are totally disregarded.

In this part of the programme, hosted by M. Onur Yılmaz, Ioanna Kuçuradi ve Betül Çotuksöken discuss the problem within the above-mentioned framework on grounds of examples taken from films, Hotel Rwanda, Schindler’s List and Joyeux Noel.
