A Message from the Principle

The relationship between art and culture is the most important factor for the society to develop and have a good quality of life. With the awareness of this, Maltepe University has established the Conservatory in the academic year of 2018/2019. Along with a high-quality of education, our Conservatory invites you to a rich and polyphonic music festival with artists and lecturers with the departments of  String Instruments, Piano-Harp-Guitar, Composition and Orchestral Conducting, Wind and Percussion Instruments this year.

Our concert halls in our privileged campus will host many exciting concerts, master classes and seminars, besides "1st International Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Young Pianists" this year. Moreover, we established a part-time education in all programmes with distinguished professors.

Foundation and Identification:

The Conservatory of Maltepe University was established as “the Department of Music” in the fall semester of 2018. The Department of Music comprises the programmes: String Instruments (Violin, Viola and Violoncello) / Piano-Harp-Guitar / Composition and Orchestral Conducting / Wind and Percussion Instruments at the privileged campus of Maltepe University, The Conservatory has brought the Children’s Music Conservatory and the Part-time Certificate Training Program into practice.

 

Objective:

Based on the importance of “art” in Atatürk's contemporary society description, the Conservatory as one of the most precious institutions of Maltepe University has made intensive preparations for raising musicians to represent our country on international platforms. By means of the awareness that the key to success passes through the students raised by senior lecturers with high level of stage experience, our academic staff is equipped with the most valuable domestic and foreign lecturers. 

 

Vision:

In the following academic year, the first target of the Conservatory is to establish the Musicology-Ethnomusicology department. Besides, bringing the Department of Turkish Music into practice with the expanding physical conditions of our new conservatory building.
