Internship

Computer Engineering Industry Training Comission

  •     Students are required to do a 6-week internship (30 working days) in summer.
  •     Students must complete their Industry Training before their 4th year.

The Purpose of Industry Training

  • The main purpose of the Industry Training is for students to gain practical knowledge in computer engineering applications. This is also an opportunity for students to study, learn and apply technological developments. In addition, the daily interaction and communication between the employees of the company can be observed.
  • In order for an Industry Training to be considered as a “Computer Engineering Internship” , the students are required to participate in tasks or projects such as system analysis and design, software design, software development, software test and maintenance, operaions and applications of computer networks.
  • Sales and marketing related activities, the hardware or software configuration, or document writing, etc. arre not accepted as “Computer Engineering Internship”. In addition, participation in trainings at a research institution like private education centers or universities related to issues of computer enginering are not considered as “Computer Engineering Internship”.

Preparation of the Industry Training Report

  • All the activities students participate during their internship are documented in “Industry Training Report”, which should be written in the format defined in
  • The report is required to be prepared on the computer and submitted as a spiralled cover book.   
  • The first part of the report should define the company (what it does, number of employees, etc.), the work place, and the facilities. Each task performed by the student should be defined in detail. It can be beneficial to use pictures, graphics, charts and parts of the programs etc as required/beneficial to the presentation.
  • The Industry training reports composed of computer codes are not accepted.
  • Long computer codes can be submitted in a CD.
  • Parts of a book directly or indirectly can not be included in the report.
  • There is no limitation to the number of the pages in the report. However, detailed daily and weekly activities of the student must be included in the report.
  • Industry training report is prepared in Turkish  in accordance with the rules of Turkish written expression and grammar.
  • The committee can ask the student to rewrite the report or reject the training.

Industry Training Report Submission

  •    The report must be submitted before the submission deadline announced by the Department of Computer Engineering. Late reports may not be accepted which would invalidate the training.
  •    Each page of the report must be sealed and approved by a Computer Engineer from the company.
  •    “The Industry Training Receipt” needs to be submitted together with the report. The receipt should include a photo of the student and must be filled accurately.
