In April 2019, body psychotherapist Fatuma Farah will give an applied training on body psychotherapy. The 1st module will be on 15th of April. The 2nd module will be on 16-17th of April.
The 1st module is a prerequisite to attend the 2nd module for participants who have not attended teh 1st module previously.
The training will be in English and a certificate of attendance will be awarded to each participant.

About the Trainer:
Fatuma Farah is currently completing her PhD research at the University of East London, Centre for Social Work Research in CASS School of Education and Communities. Fatuma is a UKCP registered psychotherapist and a clinical supervisor and sees clients at Nafsiyat Intercultural Therapy Centre, Women’s Therapy Centre and facilitates group therapy for survivors of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) at Dahlia project, which is the topic of her research interests.
Fatuma initially trained in integrative adult psychotherapy and obtained her master’s degree from London Middlesex University. She then worked for the refugee service at the Tavistock and Portman NHS (National Health Service) Foundation Trust at the Child and Family Department and trained there in psychodynamic approach with teenagers. Fatuma also worked for the United Nations Development Programme in Somalia as a consultant in mental health.
Prior to arriving in the UK as refugee, Fatuma worked with UNHCR in Somalia and Mozambique. Fatuma delivered several international seminars on refugee trauma and related topics, as well as working as a graduate teacher assistant for the MA Programme in Refugee Care at the University of Essex.
