About the Programme
HISTORY
The M.A. programme in economics provides students with a background of economic analysis while aiming to teach them the thoughts of pioneers of economists by considering the necessity of renewing the idea of economics in the face of changing conditions in our times. The programme also enables the students to participate in the contemporary economical movements and discussions.
In order to graduate programme, students are required to accomplish 21 credit hours and thesis. In the first semester of the master's programme with thesis students should take total 4 courses and in the second semester, students are required to take total 4 courses; a seminar course without credit and three other courses. The second year is allocated for thesis.
MISSION
The programme highlights conceptional, theoretical and empirical economic studies with reference to the integrity of social sciences, analyzes the decisions of economic units in the context of production relations and the results arised from those decisions, and makes policy proposals.
VISION
The programme creates discussion climates for understanding transforming economic paradigms and for comprehending properly their tools.
