International Trade and Logistics

Logistics is the activities and processes which ensure that all the products and services necessary for us to continue our vital activities reach us. Logistics is a broad perspective covering transportation, storage, packaging and value-added services, inspection, surveillance and expertise, customs, insurance, order and stock management activities. What is more, with the help of modern information technologies our students are given a supply chain perspective that overcomes all stages of production and logistics.

Trade determines the flow of goods and services in the world. With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990 and the collapse of the Soviet Union, world trade gained a new dimension and the world became global. With the development of technology in the new world, the flow of goods and services has accelerated tremendously. In the global markets where competition is constantly increasing in the 21st century, customers are looking for the products they could buy at the right time, in the right place, in the right quantity, in good quality and at a lower price.

Meeting this demand is only possible with strong international trade knowledge and a well-planned logistics process. There is no logistics without trade and there is no trade without logistics. In this context, our department educate competent professionals in both international trade and logistics.

Our curriculum has been designed including practicum. Our programme outputs have been determined considering the opinions of industry professionals and the course plans and course contents are determined accordingly. Theoretical knowledge is combined with practical knowledge with two compulsory internships. In addition, our successful students can complete their last term by working full time in internship workplaces, which facilitates their smooth transition to business life.
