Political Science and International Relations

The aim of the Department of Political Science and International Relations is to enable students to recognize the basic concepts, problems and questions of political science, and in the light of this science, it is also intended to make students to understand the functioning of international relations both in the past and in the globalizing world.

In the curriculum of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, it is given priority to the students' acquaintance with basic human and social sciences as well as the political science. The curriculum, which emphasizes interdisciplinary approach, allows students to recognize local, regional and global political relations. It will also be easier for students, who grasp the historical dimension and current situation of international relations with the aid of analytical and critical thinking, to make predictions about the future world with the knowledge they have gained.

All academic staff of the department offer academic counseling services to students during their education.

Students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations have the opportunity to do Double Major and Minor in many different departments.

Students, who complete their undergraduate education successfully, may have the opportunity to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international organizations, European Union institutions, international private companies, non-governmental organizations and the political and foreign policy units of the media.
