In the fight against COVID-19, a special and rapid “Call for Proposals for the Fight Against COVID-19” was launched by TÜBİTAK, in addition to the existing support programs, to support R&D projects aimed at developing and supporting products that can be used for the diagnosis and treatment of the new coronavirus, as well as effective protective products for disease prevention.
As a result of the assessments completed in a very short time, 446 applications were received. Following the evaluations, a total of 35 projects were supported for the fight against the pandemic, including projects in the areas of intensive care devices, diagnosis, masks, drugs, disinfectants, other personal protective equipment (PPE), information technology applications, and vaccines. Specifically, 10 projects in the “diagnosis” field were supported.
The “COVID-19 TURKEY PLATFORM TURKEY’S DIAGNOSTIC POWER VIRTUAL CONFERENCE” will be held on May 13, 2020, starting at 10:00 AM, where the project leaders of 10 companies, who are the recipients of support in the “diagnosis” field, will present their projects and expertise. Additionally, six companies, with significant experience in this field and previously benefiting from TÜBİTAK support, will also give presentations about their projects and competencies.
The Conference, which will be attended by the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mustafa Varank, will be available for online viewing through TÜBİTAK’s YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts.
