Article 1 – General

1.1. This document outlines the scope, objectives, participation conditions, and the procedures for the preliminary selection and determination of finalists for the “MayaTTO Entrepreneurship Camp” organized by the Maltepe University Technology Transfer Office (TTO).

1.2. Applicants for the “MayaTTO Entrepreneurship Camp” are deemed to accept all the rules and principles outlined in this document.

1.3. In this document, Maltepe University will be referred to as “MAU” and the Maltepe University Technology Transfer Office as “MayaTTO.”

Article 2 – Scope of the “MayaTTO Entrepreneurship Camp”

2.1. This Entrepreneurship Camp is open to students enrolled in undergraduate and associate degree programs at MAU, as well as students from other universities in Turkey.

Article 3 – Purpose of the “MayaTTO Entrepreneurship Camp”

3.1. The purpose of the Entrepreneurship Camp is to raise awareness about entrepreneurship among undergraduate and associate degree students, evaluate and support high-potential ideas that can be transformed into sustainable business models and products or services, and provide career support to students in realizing these ideas.

Article 4 – Application Conditions

The conditions for applying to the camp are as follows:

4.1. Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduate or associate degree students at their respective universities at the time of application.

4.2. Applicants must provide their personal information during the application. Applications submitted on behalf of others will be disqualified if detected.

4.3. Applications for the camp will be made online using the provided application form. No other forms of application will be accepted.

4.4. Applicants must answer the questions in the application form within the specified character limits.

4.5. Each student or student team can apply with only one business idea. Applications with multiple business ideas will be disqualified at any stage of the competition.

4.6. The student/student team applying for the Entrepreneurship Camp must enter the following information into the online application system:

  • All questions in the online system must be answered with at least the specified character count.

  • Applicants must provide their student number, full name, valid email address, valid phone number, faculty name, and department.

4.7. The idea submitted by the applicants must be their own and developed by them. It must also be feasible for implementation in business. By applying, applicants declare and undertake the following:

  • The product or service covered by the idea has not been previously commercialized by forming a legal entity.

  • The idea is original and does not infringe upon any third party’s intellectual property rights.

  • They are personally responsible for any claims or lawsuits related to intellectual property rights violations and will hold MAU and all its affiliates harmless.

  • The idea is legally compliant, consistent with MAU and YÖK values, and adheres to general ethical standards.

4.8. MayaTTO reserves the right to disqualify any applicants who do not comply with the rules outlined in this document.

Article 5 – Preliminary Screening

5.1. A briefing session will be held for university students who plan to apply for the camp within one week after the online application system opens. This event will cover topics such as business plans, income models, and how to attract angel investors.

5.2. The applications will be evaluated by MayaTTO in the first screening.

5.3. The evaluation criteria for the first screening will be announced on the university’s Entrepreneurship Camp webpage.

5.4. Ideas that do not pass the preliminary screening will be kept by MAU and will not be shared with any third parties.

Article 6 – Camp Process

6.1. Applications will open on November 23, 2020, through the online application system.

6.2. After the applications are received, the finalists will be announced on a later date.

6.5. The finalists will receive three training sessions through the MAU Blackboard system. These sessions will cover topics like what to pay attention to when seeking investment and how to use presentation templates.

6.7. Final presentations will be observed and evaluated by a jury appointed by MayaTTO.

Article 7 – Awards and Conditions

7.1. The top 10 applications selected by the jury will be awarded Entrepreneurship Training.

7.2. The top 3 ideas will gain the opportunity to be housed in the MayaTTO Technopark Pre-Incubation Center, and their intellectual property applications will be submitted by MayaTTO.

Article 8 – Special Conditions

8.1. All ideas that reach the final stage will receive pre-incubation support from MAU under the "Non-Financial Condition."

8.2. A “Non-Financial Pre-Incubation Center Agreement” will be signed between MAU and the owners of the selected project ideas.

Article 9 – Right to Make Changes

9.1. MAU reserves the right to make changes to the terms and conditions, evaluation criteria, pre-jury and jury members, awards, program, and schedule for the Entrepreneurship Camp. These changes will be communicated to participants via email and announced on the Entrepreneurship Camp website.
