Volkswagen had announced last year that it would establish a factory in Turkey. However, due to certain reasons, the company had suspended the setup process and had not made a clear statement on the matter. It is rumored that factory operations may begin in 2020.
Amid ongoing speculation, Doğuş Otomotiv CEO Ali Bilaloğlu provided clarification regarding the Volkswagen factory in Turkey.
CEO Ali Bilaloğlu said, “It has been finalized that Volkswagen’s new factory will be established in our country. The factory will be located in Manisa. The possibility of it being built in other countries like Bulgaria or Romania has been ruled out. Statements made under the leadership of Herbert Diess also confirm that Turkey is the final decision.”
Emphasizing once again that the new automotive factory will be built in Turkey, Bilaloğlu stated that preparations and efforts are ongoing. Recently, the President of the Investment Office of the Presidency, Arda Ermut, made similar remarks, noting that positive developments regarding the factory are expected in 2020.
