Aim and Scope

The concept of "Synthetic" describes the dynamic character of our era where technological imitations not only artificialize nature but also strongly shape cultural transformations, putting people through mental changes and complicating relationships. Ethical debates surrounding this concept can be observed, including discussions about virtual reality influenced by social media, the pervasive spread of artificial intelligence across all fields, and sustainability questions regarding the recycling of artificial products.

Within this context, as we question whether reality's sustainability or recycling is possible, we inevitably face reality's redefinition process (or rather, its undefinability through changing definitions). In this uncertain environment, we believe works produced through contemporary art's interdisciplinary, diverse, innovative and creative methods will offer objective perspectives in many ways. Through the "Synthetic" concept, we wish to interpret and explore our technology-transformed lives, the boundaries between natural and artificial, the challenges humanity faces in the modern world, and the fundamental changes occurring.
