Library and Documentation Department

Responsibilities of the Library and Documentation Department:

Libraries and Information Centers are places where information is collected, organized, and made available to users (students, academics, researchers, etc.). Libraries are institutions established to meet the research, education, and teaching needs in line with the university's educational mission and provide services accordingly.

To undertake necessary efforts to establish a sufficient staff for library services, provide feedback to the Rectorate regarding personnel to be appointed or assigned to libraries, and carry out general training and supervision of library personnel at the university.
To provide books, periodicals, theses, microfilms, audiovisual materials, videos, and any kind of information needed for education, teaching, and research from both domestic and international sources; systematically organize the stored information for ready access by users; organize, implement, and supervise necessary library services to meet information needs.
To prepare and submit the annual budget draft for books, periodicals, tools, equipment, and similar materials to be procured from domestic and international sources.
To ensure that tools and equipment are regularly updated with the latest technology for the best possible library services.
To present activity reports on library and documentation services.
To ensure coordination and collaboration among central and departmental libraries and, for this purpose, to organize professional courses and training programs.
To conduct internships and practical training for students studying library science, when necessary.
To ensure the renewal of library materials in a manner befitting a modern library within the allocated budget, take necessary measures to ensure the sustainable development of the library, and present proposals on this matter to senior management.
To resolve any infrastructural issues that may hinder the effective provision of library services within the scope of their duties and authority.
To keep the Rectorate informed about developments in the library and library services.
