World Philosophy Day Celebrated
World Philosophy Day, celebrated every year on the 3rd Thursday of November, this year brought together students and teachers from Maltepe University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Philosophy and Philosophy Club, along with Halit Armay High School, Alev Schools, and Atilla Uras Anatolian High School, under the theme of 'Philosophy and Education for Children and Communities'.
The opening speech of the event was delivered by the Department's Founding Head, Prof. Dr. Betül Çotuksöken.
The World Philosophy Day message, published annually by Prof. Dr. İoanna Kuçuradi, was read aloud by Gökhan Ayaz, President of the Philosophy Club.
Following this, the speech by Assoc. Prof. Dilek Arlı Çil on the dynamics of philosophy for children and communities was listened to with great interest.
Finally, Deniz Ergen, a graduate of Maltepe University's Philosophical Counseling Master's program, facilitated a philosophy application session. With the contributions and questions from the participants, the role and importance of education, the function of philosophy, and concepts were interactively questioned, concluding the World Philosophy Day event.
