"Ataşehir Urban Design Workshop 2025" Closing Ceremony Was Held

“Ataşehir Urban Design Workshop 2025” organized in cooperation with Maltepe University Faculty of Architecture and Design, Ataşehir Municipality and Urbancode Planning Design on the Begonya-Sümbül Street axis in Ataşehir district of Istanbul has been completed.

On 25 June 2025, Onursal ADIGÜZEL, Mayor of Ataşehir, Prof. Dr. İhsan YILMAZ, Vice Rector of Maltepe University, Prof. Dr. Betül ÇOTUKSÖKEN, Advisor to the Board of Trustees of Maltepe University, Prof. Dr. Özgür ÖZKAN, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, representatives of Ataşehir Municipality and esteemed academicians of our faculty attended the closing presentation held in the ‘HANGAR’ area of the Faculty of Architecture and Design.

In the workshop held on June 18-25, 2025 with 17 participants consisting of students and graduates of our faculty, firstly, the current situation of the study area was examined, problems and potentials were revealed. Subsequently, various spatial proposals were developed at different scales in line with the needs of the users of the region.

We hope that the workshop process contributed to our students and we would like to thank Mr. Onur DEDETAŞ, Director of Parks and Gardens of Ataşehir Municipality, and Ms. Ece KARAKUŞ, Advisor to the Mayor of Ataşehir Municipality, who contributed to this process.
