Research and Application Center of Humanities and Social Sciences
Objectives of this center are as following:
a) Production, acquirement, enhancement, dissemination of every kind of knowledge within the field of social sciences and transmission of this knowledge to every section of society, in order to contribute to the development of humanity and society,
b) Direct or indirect education of social scientists and students within the fields of humanities and social sciences as well as providing the ground for them to make publishments,
c) Performing studies for the enhancement of the quality of education in the field of social sciences.
d) Collaborating with national/international institutions in areas of research.
Areas of operation are as following:
MÜTAM implements interdisciplinary researches/studies within the following areas of operation in order to fulfill the above mentioned objectives:
a. Demographic Studies,
b. Social development,
c. Sociology/Anthropology of Health,
d. Political Sociology
e. Women’s studies, education of girls,
f. Lifestyles, socio-cultural tendencies,
g. Welfare studies,
h. Groups like elderly, adolescents and disabled,
i. Street children, children who are exposed to domestic violence,
j. Researches on human rights and citizenship awareness, and applications on enhancement of level of awareness,
k. Detection of potential problems of neighbouring districts and implementation of studies for their amelioration,
l. Studies on women’s contribution to work life and enhancement of their levels of literacy.
Activities of MÜTAM are as following:
a. Implemantation of researches and applications in the context of European Union Environment Action Programme,
b. Publishing of research results,
c. Teaching short-term courses for researchers,
d. Ensuring that the research results are depicted in media and open to discussion before losing their currency,
e. Ensuring that local, national and international social problems are understood throughly, putting forward potential solutions to these problems and organizing conferences, seminars, panels with the aim of making policies regarding solutions a part of everyday life,
f. Implementation of further studies and activities that will be decided by the administrative board.
