Asst. Prof. Dr. Hacer DÜZEN participated in the “Sustainable Living Festival” on behalf of our University’s Sustainability Office.
As the Maltepe University Sustainability Office, we participated in the "Sustainable Life Festival" held at the Boğaziçi Culture and Art Center affiliated with the Sarıyer Municipality on December 1, 2024, together with our students and some of our professors from the Vocational School of our University.
While the importance of a holistic view of issues related to the 3 dimensions of sustainability, namely environmental, social and economic sustainability, was emphasized in the festival, names from the business world, academics, managers and students came together to invite young people to a movement of hope for change and transformation and to produce innovative ideas together for common purposes.
Our students learned about “sustainability-focused careers, the future of professions, the professions of the future and internship opportunities”. Academicians, managers, students and people from the business world shared their sustainability projects. The inspiring speeches of people from the business world contributed to broadening the horizons of our students. In addition, thanks to the “New Generation Leadership Workshop in the Impact Perspective” that our students attended within the festival program, it was beneficial for our students to diversify their perspectives in the steps they will take in business life within the rapidly changing world norms and to develop their collective working awareness with team spirit. Again, with the “Cartoon Workshop” included in the festival program, all participants simultaneously drew cartoons with the theme of environmental dimensions of sustainability accompanied by cartoonists and we took part in a fun and beautiful activity.
