Meaningful Contributions from Faculty of Education Students at the We Are at School Maltepe Symposium
The We Are at School Maltepe Symposium, organized as part of the We Are at School Maltepe Project carried out in collaboration between Maltepe University and the Istanbul Marmara Education Foundation (İMEV), brought together academics, students, and project stakeholders from a variety of disciplines.
As part of the initiatives conducted within the Faculty of Education, students from the Primary Mathematics Teacher Education Program, under the supervision of Dr. Vildan Katmer, and students from the English Language Teaching Program, under the supervision of Dr. Özlem Pervan Van Dam, had the opportunity to present the projects they carried out throughout the year and reflect on the experiences they gained during the project.
The year-long school-based community engagement activities enabled students to transform their academic knowledge and skills into meaningful social contributions, collaborate across disciplines, and gain valuable field experience.
The symposium provided an important platform for sharing experiences developed throughout the project, showcasing examples of good practice, and strengthening collaboration between the university and the wider community.
