Our common features combine to make us human. If we have differences, we can make each individual an individual. The educational needs of the individuals who differ between the average limits can be met by general education and training services. If these differences at both ends are outside the average boundaries, it is inevitable that special education services will be introduced. However, it is possible to achieve equal opportunity in education, which is one of the basic conditions of democratic societies.
Special Education Teacher Education Department was established in 2016-2017 academic year. Programme, Higher Education Transfer Examination YGS-4 points are taken students. Candidate teachers who have completed the programme are affiliated to the Ministry of National Education; Special education and training centres, special education and training centres, special education and training centres, special education and training centres, special education and training centre schools, special education classes (primary and secondary school) Children's nurseries and nursing homes.
The mission of the Special Education Department is to train modern, creative, interrogator, explorer, highly-motivated teachers who possess international values and ethical concepts and who can give differentiated and individualized education to gifted students as class teachers and to mentally disabled students at the level of pre-school and elementary education; to enable the teachers to gain the skills of research and practice in special education field; to provide them with opportunities for graduate programmes and to make research and publish research results related to children in need for special education and to teachers’ education.
The vision of the Special Education Department is to become a respected and preferred department which trains teachers with efficient skills in special education field, comes up with new information for the national and global welfare and happiness of humanity through scientific research and practices and to lead other universities in terms of special education programmes.
