About the Programme

Palliative care is an interdisciplinary field that supports the best possible quality of life, focusing on pain prevention and alleviating symptoms for patients and their families who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease. Palliative care aims to reduce pain and control symptoms  at every stage of the disease and in a period not limited to end-of-life care.

Alterations in living conditions and developments in health have caused a significant increase in the number of elderly and individuals having chronic disease. Palliative care units are the services where basic and supportive care services are applied for each individual to improve the quality of life. In order to achieve the desired service quality in these units, it is very important to be trained in this field for the health personel. The aim of the Palliative Care Master's program is to provide qualified healthcare professionals for this area.
