Within the Center, the Human Rights Master's Program has been offered with and without a thesis since 2008 under the Department of Human Rights affiliated with the Institute of Social Sciences. The distinctive feature of this program is that it is an interdisciplinary program centered on philosophy and ethics.
The general aim of the program is to equip those who are expected to protect human rights above all others—primarily security forces, but also all public officials, members of parliament, judges and prosecutors, and social service professionals—with conceptual knowledge of human rights and to help them reach a position where they can identify what human rights require when taking action in problematic situations. Because these two pieces of knowledge are fundamental to the protection of human rights in real life.
