Prof. Dr. İoanna KUÇURADİ
She graduated from the Philosophy Department of Istanbul University in 1959 and started working in the same department as assistant of Prof. Dr. Takiyettin Mengüşoğlu. She received her Ph.D. in 1965 with the thesis on "Schopenhauer's and Nietzsche's Conceptions of Human Being". Between 1965-1968 she worked at Atatürk University, Erzurum, in which she gave courses of philosophy, latin and poetry.  In 1968 she joined Hacettepe University, in which she established the Department of Philosophy in 1969 and chaired until 2003. She became associate profesors in 1970 and full profesor in 1978. She also established the Centre of Research and Application of Human Rights at Hacettepe University in 1997 and started concudting an M.A. and a Ph.D. programme. 

Ioanna Kuçuradi, who also holds a UNESCO Chair for Philosophy and Human Rights since 1998, is at present the Director of  the Human Rights Centre of Maltepe University.

Prof. Dr. Sevgi ŞAHİNTÜRK
She graduated from the Sociology Department of Hacettepe University in 1978. She received her M.A. in 1982 and her Ph.D. in Philosophy in 1989 from the same University. After she worked as research assistant at Hacettepe University between 1979-1990, she joined Uludağ University (Bursa), in which she established the Department of Philosophy. She became associate professor in 1994 and full professor in 2001. Her publications include The Problem of Metaphysics Today, The Problem of the Human Being in Heidegger, Philosophical Anthropolgy and Enlightment in the Republican Era and many essays focusing on problems of anthropology, value theıry, ethics and philosophy of art.

Prof. İyi, who works at present in the Philosophy Department of Maltepe University, is also a member of Executive Committee of the Philosophical Society of Turkey.

Prof. Dr. Betül ÇOTUKSÖKEN
She graduated from the Philosophy Department of Istanbul University in 1972. After her graduation she worked in Darüşşafaka Lycée for six years and subsequently at the Library of Istanbul University. She was appointed as research assistant in the Philosophy Department of Istanbul University, from which she received her Ph.D. in the area of Medieval Philosophy in the year 1984.

She became associate proffesor in 1988 and full proffesor 1996. After she worked at Istanbul University until 2000, she joined Maltepe University in 2000, in which she established the Department of Philosophy in 2004, which she chairs until now.


Ambassador (R) Numan Hazar

He graduated from the Department of Diplomacy and External Relations of the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University in the year 1966. He started his diplomatic career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1967. Among the other posts that he occupied, he also acted as Director General for Bilateral Relations in charge of Africa, East Asia and Pacific Region and Islamic Conference Organization, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Lagos and in Nigeria, Ambassador/Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Turkey to the Council of Europe and Ambassador/Permanent Delegate to UNESCO. Among his publications are also the following: Küreselleşme Sürecinde Afrika ve Türkiye-Afrika İlişkileri (Africa and Turkish-African Relations during the Globalization Process), Uluslararası Politika ve Uygarlıklar (Civilizations and International Politics), Bilim ve Teknoloji Diplomasisi (Science and Technology Diplomacy), İnsan Hakları ve Diplomasi (Diplomacy and Human Rights) and Sovyet Tehdidinin Gölgesinde Türk Dış Politikası. Kuzey Afrika Örneği (Turkish Foreign Policy under the Shadow of the Soviet Threat. The Case of North Africa).                           


Prof. Dr. Şahin KARASAR

 

He graduted from the Faculty of Communication Sciences of Anadolu University in 1990. He got his M.A. degree in TV Broadcast Management in 1995 from Marquette University, Wisconsin (USA) and his Ph. D. in Communication Sciences from Anadolu University (Turkey) in 1999. He was lecturer and manager in various universities in Turkey and abroad between 1990-2005. He acted as Vice Rector of Maltepe University between 2005-2010 and 2013-2014, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts between 2005-2010 and of Communication Sciences between 2010-2013, as well as Senior Vice President (Responsible for Training) of Turkish Airlines and President of the Turkish Aviation Academy. He is Rector of Maltepe University since 2014.

Köksal TOPTAN

He graduted from the Faculty of Law of Ankara University in 1966. After he acted as member of the Municipality Council in Zonguldak, he was elected member of the Parliament from the Party of Justice in 1977. He was Minister of Education in the 49th Coalition Goverment and Minister of Culture of the 51st one. He was elected President of the Great National Assembly of Turkey in 2007. He is the President of the Ethical Council for Public Offical, since 2017.
