International Trade and Logistics

Logistics encompassing all the activities and processes ensures that all the products and services, essential to our daily lives, smoothly reach us. It represents a broad perspective going beyond mere transportation to include warehousing, packaging, value-added services, inspection, supervision and appraisal, customs, insurance, order, and inventory management. We even surpass this perspective to equip the students with a supply chain orientation—covering all production and logistics phases from raw materials to the consumer at the end of the chain—alongside the contemporary information technologies.

The flow of goods and services worldwide is determined and even dictated by trade. With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, world trade entered a new stage, and the world became further globalized. In such a world, technological breakthroughs have significantly accelerated the flow of goods and services. In an increasingly competitive global market of the 21^st century, customers expect to receive products on time, in the right place, with a correct quantity and high quality, at a lower price.

Satisfying this kind of demand is only possible through a strong knowledge of international trade and a well-planned and well-organized logistics process. There is no logistics without trade, and no trade without logistics. Within this framework, our department is dedicated to bring up professionals and field experts in both international trade and logistics.

Our curriculum is designed to be practice-oriented. Our program outcomes have been developed through feedbacks from industry professionals, and course plans and contents have been constructed accordingly. Through two mandatory internships, theoretical knowledge is linked with practical experience. Moreover, successful students have the opportunity to spend their final semester in full-time experience in the workplace, facilitating a smoother transition into professional life.
