Graduation Projects
Graduation Project is an integral part of the education of students enrolled in programs at Maltepe University Faculty of Business and Management Sciences throughout the academic journey. Encouraging students to produce projects and academic texts is a common goal across all programs.
Within the scope of Graduation Project I and II, students are expected to write a project that reflects the theoretical knowledge and skills they have acquired over four years. Therefore, necessary care and effort are required at every stage, from generating ideas to presenting work.
All graduation projects must adhere to academic ethical principles and rules. Activities such as scientific neglect, distortion, plagiarism, etc., which undermine the reliability of the work, must be avoided.
At the beginning of each semester, students choose a project advisor wish to work. The project advisor, evaluating class schedules, allocates three hours per week for the project consultation, clearly expressing in class schedule. Students conduct their project work by meeting with their advisors during allotted hours each week, additional meetings may be held if needed.
Students who do not pass the Graduation Project I course cannot enroll to Graduation Project II.
Graduation Project I
During the first seven weeks of the Graduation Project I, the advisor provides students with information on scientific ethics, research methods and techniques, literature review, academic writing rules, stages of preparing a graduation project, presenting research reports, etc. Subsequently, students are required to make research and identify the subject matters, willing to work on, obtain approval of the advisor, conduct literature reviews, and prepare a proposal for the graduation project.
Graduation Project II
Based on the proposal in Graduation Project I, students write the project, consistent with the academic writing rules specified in the Maltepe University Faculty of Business and Management Sciences Graduation Project Writing Guide and the Graduation Project Template. Students proceed the project with the same advisor throughout the semester and submit completed forms of projects to the advisor at the end of the course both electronically and printed.
