7+1 Industrial Practice Model

The discipline of Business Administration is inherently based not only on acquiring theoretical knowledge but also on the effective application of that knowledge across different sectors and real business environments. Gaining practical experience in workplaces where core business functions such as marketing, finance, accounting, human resource management, operations, and strategy interact with one another is of great importance for developing students' holistic understanding of business management.

Within the scope of the 7+1 Industrial Practice Model, students have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills they have acquired during the first seven semesters in real business environments throughout the eighth semester. The model aims to educate students who can adapt to the dynamics of the business world, think analytically, solve problems effectively, and create value for organizations.

In today's business environment, employers seek graduates who possess not only strong academic knowledge but also well-developed communication skills, the ability to work effectively in teams, initiative-taking capabilities, and the competence to make sound decisions in uncertain situations. Through the Industrial Practice course, students actively participate in real business processes, gain firsthand experience of organizational culture, establish professional relationships, and develop the discipline and sense of responsibility required in professional life. These experiences support students in entering the labor market after graduation as more well-equipped, competitive, and employable individuals.

Implementation Process of the 7+1 Industrial Practice Model

I. Application Requirements

To benefit from the 7+1 Industrial Practice Model, students must meet the following requirements and submit the FR-392 Industrial Practice Course Application Petition to the Dean's Office of the Faculty.

Have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50.
Successfully complete all compulsory courses and University Elective (ÜSEÇ) courses, except for BUS 416 Graduation Project II, which is offered in the eighth semester.
Have five (5) remaining Departmental Elective (ASEÇ) courses as of the eighth semester.

II. Submission of Application Documents

Students are required to have the FR-388 Industrial Practice Application and Approval Form and the FR-393 Industrial Practice Course Protocol approved and signed by the institution where they will complete their Industrial Practice, and then submit these documents to the Industrial Practice course coordinator.

Students work on a full-time basis at the institutions or organizations where their protocols have been approved. During the training period, students' compulsory social security insurance premiums are covered by the University. All procedures related to the implementation and administration of the Industrial Practice course are carried out in accordance with the Implementation Principles and Procedures for Applied Education of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences at Maltepe University.

III. Implementation of the Industrial Practice Process

Students carry out their Industrial Practice in accordance with the approved Industrial Practice Work Plan. During the training period, students are required to:

Prepare two interim reports during the semester.
Deliver a final presentation on their Industrial Practice activities both to the host institution and to the Industrial Practice course coordinator.

IV. Evaluation

Upon completion of the Industrial Practice period, the FR-433 Industrial Practice Institution Evaluation Form, completed by the host institution, must be submitted to the Industrial Practice course coordinator.
