Maltepe University Cancer and Stem Cell Application and Research Center (MÜKKAM) was established in 2014 at Maltepe University Marmara Education Village to serve scientists, students, and medical doctors working in basic and applied fields related to cancer and stem cells. It is a multidisciplinary center that aims to contribute to the education of the public on these topics and to produce national and international studies to obtain scientific data that can be applied in practice. It aims to be a research center that meets the demands for processes, techniques, or products in the fields of cancer and stem cell biology, genetic engineering, biotechnology, and bioinformatics.

MISSION

Our center is:

• A scientific research environment that produces interdisciplinary studies in the fields of cancer cells and stem cells in Turkey, generating scientific data at an international level,

• A center serving physicians, scientists, and doctoral, master's, and undergraduate students at national and international levels,

• A unit that facilitates international scientific collaborations,

• A laboratory involved in projects focused on producing biotechnology-oriented products,

• A team conducting interdisciplinary research aimed at producing data and products that can be used in the diagnosis and treatment of different types of cancer and diseases, and at developing innovative methods.

VISION

• The goal is to obtain important scientific data on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases through cancer and stem cell research, and to apply this data to achieve practical and innovative results.

• Through education and training programs, the center aims to become an international hub where undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, specialist, and academic professionals are informed about cancer cell and stem cell culture, cell differentiation, the latest methods developed in these fields, and cutting-edge technologies for examining cell characteristics.
