Johanna Schubert: The Internship at SOYAC Institute was a period full of important and new experiences for me.
I had insights in different social projects and was therefore able to explore the social system of turkey to multiple perspectives.
Through SOYAC I was afforded the opportunity to join projects in direct contact with children and adolescent from the streets of Istanbul. Dealing with them had a positive effect on my wealth of experiences and in direct exchange with them I could extend my knowledge.
Despite the manifest language barriers in some situations we found always a way to communicate and understand each other. Of particular importance was the weekly supervision and the professional guided reflection contained within.
