Personal Data and Electronic Commerce Law

As a result of the digitalization of the World and the development of technology, the value and importance of the data is increasing every day. As a matter of fact, this also applies to personal data, which, with its accurate use, enables companies to highly benefit from. However, personal data belongs to a natural person and therefore cannot be freely used by organizations.

Commerce has not remained indifferent to the changing and ever since evolving world; it has increasingly shifted to the virtual environment. As matter of fact, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this change    has accelerated and accordingly, as classic stores close, many brands shifted to electronic commerce. This very situation has increased the importance of many legal issues regarding the electronic commerce.

The Personal Data and Electronic Commerce Law Research Group will conduct their research on electronic commerce and personal data whose importance and place in our daily lives is increasing each day, and will examine these issues in detail, both separately and through intersections.
