Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Sevim AŞİROĞLU
Dr. Sevim AŞİROĞLU graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Education (2003), Gaziantep University’s Master’s Program in Curriculum and Instruction (2007), and İnönü University’s Doctoral Program in Curriculum and Instruction (2014). She has published national and international research studies in the field of educational sciences.
She has provided in-service training programs for teachers and has contributed to community service projects and family education initiatives. Between 2003 and 2015, she worked as a teacher, curriculum development specialist, and educational administrator in various educational institutions. Since 2016, she has been serving as a faculty member in the Department of Educational Sciences at Maltepe University.
As of 2026, Dr. AŞİROĞLU has been serving as the Director of the Maltepe University Center for Learning and Teaching Application and Research.
Prof. Dr. Betül ÇOTUKSÖKEN
Prof. Dr. Betül Çotuksöken (born on 26 August 1950 in Istanbul), whose primary field of expertise is medieval philosophy, worked for many years in the Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Letters of Istanbul University. Since 2000, she has been a faculty member of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Maltepe University. She established the Department of Philosophy at Maltepe University in 2004 and served as its Head until August 2010.
At Maltepe University, she has undertaken various administrative responsibilities, including Vice Dean, Vice Rector, Dean, Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences, and Erasmus Institutional Coordinator. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Human Rights Research and Application Center and as a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy at Maltepe University. Prof. Dr. Çotuksöken is Vice President of the Turkish Philosophical Society and a member of the International Institute of Philosophy (IIP). She has also served as Vice President of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP). In addition, she is a member of the Maltepe District Human Rights Board. For the past two decades, Prof. Dr. Çotuksöken has focused on the formation of philosophy as a discourse and has conducted research on ethics and human rights within the framework of human, ontology, mind, language, and epistemology, drawing upon the medieval “problem of universals.” She examines the relationship between the concepts of “subject” and “discourse.” The foundation of her original philosophical approach can be summarized as a nominalist understanding of being, which stands in contrast to an essentialist perspective. She introduced the concept of anthropontology (human ontology) and continues her academic studies in this field, particularly focusing on education and ethics.
Doç. Dr. Didem BERBER
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Didem BERBER has been serving in the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts since 2020. She continues her academic studies in the field of microbiology, including food microbiology, and is interested in interdisciplinary research. She has undertaken various administrative responsibilities within the institution. Since 2022, she has been serving as the Head of the Department, and since 2023, she has served as the Faculty Representative on the University Senate.

Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Demet AVCI ALPAR
Assist. Prof. Dr. Demet Avcı Alpar completed her undergraduate education at Gülhane Military Medical Academy School of Nursing and earned her master’s and doctoral degrees from the Institute of Health Sciences at Istanbul University. Her academic studies focus on women’s health and diseases nursing, reproductive health, perinatology, women’s health, violence, incontinence, nursing education, and health sciences. Since 2019, she has served as an Assistant Professor at Maltepe University School of Nursing, and in 2026, she was appointed to the Department of Midwifery at the School of Health Sciences. Throughout her academic career, she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in areas including women’s health and diseases nursing, reproductive health, perinatal nursing, nursing research, ethics, first aid, and health assessment. She has supervised numerous master’s theses. She has presented oral and poster presentations at national and international scientific meetings, published articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, and served as a reviewer for various academic journals. At Maltepe University, she has undertaken several academic and administrative responsibilities, including serving as a member of administrative boards, Erasmus Department Coordinator, Chair of the Assessment and Evaluation Committee, and a member of committees related to accreditation and quality assurance processes. She has also delivered seminars, conferences, and invited lectures on topics such as women’s health, reproductive health, adolescence, the use of digital resources in nursing education, and clinical decision support systems.
Öğr. Gör. Diğdem ENEREM
Diğdem Enerem graduated from the Department of Primary Education at Maltepe University Faculty of Education and completed a Double Major Program in the Department of Educational Sciences with high honors during the same period. She earned her master’s degree in Developmental Psychology at Maltepe University with her thesis focusing on early literacy and cognitive skills. Since 2017, she has been serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Child Care and Youth Services at Maltepe University Vocational School. In addition to her previous role as Deputy Director of the Vocational School, she currently undertakes important administrative responsibilities, including serving as Head of the Department and as a member of various university committees and commissions. Specializing in developmental psychology, early childhood education, and applied psychology, Enerem has participated as a researcher and project coordinator in numerous innovative education and play-based projects supported by TÜBİTAK and the Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA). In addition to her academic work, she has completed comprehensive professional training programs, including EMDR (Level I and II), Child-Centered Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy. She continues to conduct academic research, deliver seminars, and engage in community-oriented field studies on topics such as trauma, emotion regulation, the role of play in post-earthquake recovery processes, and early childhood development. Beyond her professional interests, she enjoys camping, fishing, learning, sharing, playing, exploring, and collaborating with others.
