Who is Eligible?

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS APPLICATIONS

Eligible to Apply

International students who wish to apply to higher education institutions in Türkiye must meet the admission requirements determined by the relevant institution and approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

• ✔ Foreign nationals who did not attend high school in Türkiye or the TRNC
• ✔ Blue Card holders and individuals who renounced Turkish citizenship (provided they did not attend high school in Türkiye or the TRNC)
• ✔ Dual nationals who did not attend high school in Türkiye or the TRNC
• ✔ Turkish citizens who completed their entire high school education abroad
• ✔ TRNC nationals who meet the GCE AL or TR-YÖS requirements

Not Eligible to Apply

• ✔ Turkish citizens who completed high school in Türkiye or the TRNC
• ✔ Dual nationals who completed high school in Türkiye or the TRNC
• ✔ Foreign nationals who completed high school in Türkiye or the TRNC (except those attending embassy or international private high schools – this exception applies only to foreign nationals)
• ✔ Turkish citizens who attended foreign or embassy high schools located in Türkiye
• ✔ TRNC nationals who do not meet the GCE AL or TR-YÖS exemption requirements
