Roles and Responsibilities of the Mentor
- Supports the mentee in clarifying their needs, expectations, and career goals.
- Provides perspectives that help the mentee discover their strengths, potential, and values.
- Focuses on the mentee’s development throughout the mentoring process; works on the agenda and development steps determined during the meetings.
- Builds the mentoring relationship on trust, confidentiality, and mutual respect, and adheres to these principles.
- Plans the time and place of meetings together with the mentee, taking into account the rules set in the agreement; ensures meetings take place in a productive environment.
- Guides the mentee, provides feedback, and supports their development process; encourages the mentee to make their own decisions.
- Is responsible for informing the department head in case of any inappropriate situation.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Mentee
- Takes responsibility for their personal development; demonstrates a willing, proactive, and open approach to learning.
- Prepares an agenda for meetings, sets goals, and participates in meetings prepared.
- Plans the meeting time and environment together with the mentor, considering the rules specified in the agreement, and adheres to the agreed schedule.
- Conducts the mentoring relationship within the framework of trust, confidentiality, and mutual respect.
- Actively participates in meetings, evaluates feedback, and implements development steps.
- Is responsible for informing the department head in case of any inappropriate situation.
