What Are the Criteria for Being a Mentee (Student)?

Students who wish to participate as mentees in the Maltepe University International Trade and Logistics Department MENYA Program are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Actively participate in all stages of the program, including the application, interview, and matching processes,

  • Attend the candidate selection and training activities that will take place before the matching process,

  • Collaborate with the mentor in this learning relationship focused on personal development,

  • Take responsibility for establishing and maintaining the mentoring relationship,

  • Adhere to the principles of confidentiality, respect, trust, understanding, openness, and honesty throughout the relationship,

  • Set personal and professional development goals and actively strive to achieve them,

  • Participate in the program voluntarily and maintain motivation throughout the process,

  • Accept the program rules, processes, and responsibilities,

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information during the application and interview stages,

  • Commit to holding regular meetings with the mentor throughout the mentoring process,

  • Allocate the necessary time and energy for meetings (meetings will last approximately 45–60 minutes),

  • Conduct the process in communication and cooperation with the department chair team,

  • Adhere to the program structure and the established schedule,

  • Participate actively in the program for at least 6 months and prioritize the mentoring relationship,

  • Support necessary feedback, reporting, and evaluation activities throughout the process.
