ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The Human Rights Department of the Institute of Social Sciences of Maltepe University was established in the year 2008 and started conducting an M.A. Program with thesis and another one without thesis, in the academic year 2008-2009.
The objectives of the human rights programme with a thesis are a) to prepare the ground for conceptual research related to human rights, necessary for becoming able to conduct applied research and b) to train people on this theoretical basis.
The programme gave its first graduates in the year 2010. The end academic year 2020-2021 until now 61 students graduated from this programme.
MISSION
The mission of the programme is to contribute to the increase in the number of researchers in theoretical and applied research in human rights. The mission of the programme is to contribute to the increase in the number of those who look at what is going on in Turkey and in the world from human rights perspective and the dffusion of this perspective, as well as in taking clearly conceived human rights as basis in legistation and in the aplication of laws.
VISION
A Turkey in which everyone’s human rights are protected.
