Program Objectives

MISSION

Our mission is to educate students who politically and economically investigate the current international, regional and domestic developments; so to gain a point of view in terms of scientific analysis about strategic researches, issuing publications and introduce consultations.    

VISION

The vision of Department of Political Science and International Relations is to become a department that is carrying out comprehensive and various researches on Political Science and International Relationsby giving importance on becoming regional expert and extended command on  national and foreign policy issues.

 To train future experts in the field of International Relations who will be able to:

  1. Understand the main concepts and debates of Political Science and International Relations within a historical and methodological framework;
  2. Analyze concepts, data and ideas relating to Political Science and International Relations through scientific methods; analyze and determine complex occurrences and developments; create discussions and develop suggestions based on case studies and research;
  3. Interpret institutional debates that cover interactions between major actors, structures and veto players; evaluate continuity and change within international dynamics;
  4. Follow studies, research, discussions and new trends in the field at national and international levels;
  5. Convey and utilize basic knowledge about fundamental disciplines of International Relations within an interdisciplinary context;
  6. Observe and understand the historical, social and cultural aspects of contemporary issues and problems;
  7. Analyze, interpret and facilitate resolutions towards national and international problems using the knowledge pool gained through the study of Political Science and International Relations;
  8. Take responsibility through forming workshops at individual and group levels;
  9. Use language skills to create international collegial networks within the discipline and to follow global events;
  10. Employ creative and critical thinking abilities with attention to detail;
  11. Project upon various contemporary issues and approach them with an open mind for novel values and developments; conceptualize solutions and take the initiative to resolve conflicts effectively at national and international levels;
  12. Adhere to social, scientific and ethical values upon gathering, interpreting and annunciating data relating to social and political developments;
  13. Present opinions correctly and clearly through discourse or in writing.
