We organized a trip to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport on November 30, 2018 and then asked our students to explain their experiences. Here are the students who shared with us abou the trip:

“After passing through high-level security measures, I saw the apron, runway and aircraft parking positions in the airport. I felt very lucky to have the opportunity to watch the plane landing and take off. To monitor the ground services given to the plane, the theoretical lessons we took in the school to sit in my head and waiting for answers in my mind was eliminated. -Mehmet Can Divrik

In spite of the hierarchy how good the interpersonal communication, how they live together there like the family. It's a place that has perfect working principles, like a hive or anthill in my mind.” -Onurcan Çalgıcı

“This trip showed us how difficult and inconvenient the working conditions of the airport were and how things should progress without going beyond a certain standard. In fact,  I understood at the end of this trip, the apron is an area that is more suitible work area for people who do not like to sit in and those with high energy and dexterity.  Terminal is an area area which is like boarding, check-in etc. is suitible for people who talented public relations with more patience and smiling faces.” -Aytuğ Sevdim

“When I participated in this trip, I was worried about whether I could actually do this job or not. Then I saw that the working areas of the gentleman and the places I saw were suitable for me. Honestly,  In spite of I love doing this job in the apron, my eye was frightened. I was a little scared thinking about that; the summers are very hot and the winters are very cold. I'm in a bit of a doubt about this. But I think that I have entered the working environment in the future, if we love each other with my colleagues, if this is a nice warm environment, if we have positive thoughts, I think this work will not force me so much.” -Zeynep Öz

“I think that the Sabiha Gökçen Airport trip we made on 30 November 2018 was very efficient. We had the opportunity to see many vehicles such as GPU, Medcar, Dolly, de-icing etc. in the class. More precisely, the theoretical knowledge we have seen in a real way to see the information in a real way we have provided. What is the coordination in the airspace at the take-off or landing of an airplane? we watched this more closely. We listened to the person in charge of the work on the plane of the incoming airplane, how it was taken, how it should be placed. And I think we understood how easy and simple things were, but it wasn't.” -Serpil Demir

“I would like to thank you on my behalf before I convey my ideas and thoughts. Because what I have seen and felt on this trip has reawakened the passion of aviation within me. When I stepped into the airport and I thought it would be an ordinary trip for me, I encountered a non-ordinary trip, which I did not notice in the top scan without accessing the apron changed my point of view. Now I'm gonna be wearing an apron card and an apron. In summary, my feet would touch the ground” -Ahmet Çelik

“The trip was very nice, fun and very useful in terms of knowledge. Maybe we'll lead our lives together with that. We saw a lot of vehicles in the apron on the trip; Including fuel vehicles, gpu, medcar,steps, passenger bus, operations center. Besides, we visited a lot of places in the terminal building; we received information such as airline counters, boarding, arrivle, lost and found.”-Mehmet Kul
